Comment by Mistheart Blizzard has claimed that this staff along side with 3 epic capes drops from Lord Ahune, which is same kind of boss as Headless Horseman was during halloween. He can be summoned in slave pens and he is summonable only during Midsummer Fire Festival. I'm pretty sure you will see loads of these when Midsummer Fire Festival hits live, just like there were loads of horseman helms around at halloween. Thought in form of spell damage this weapon is not as good as gladiator weapons obtained with honor, this staff is still nice item for casters who are starting raiding.

Like the Helm from Halloween, it isn't labeled but it's there. Use effect gives you a snow aura that lasts for 1 minute with a minute cooldown.

The fight in both versions also features Frost-Immune adds.

Mana longevity is certainly a concern for mages in long boss fights, and this staff will help a bit. The only class it doesn't benefit as much are warlocks due to Life Tap. Comment by Ziwe Okay, I signed up to this site for one reason. The drop rate of the staff on normal is VERY low.

I just logged out from wow, after staying in SP for hours killing Ahune 8 times. Yesterday I killed him 6 times on normal and the only loot we got was cloaks. So we decided to try it on heroic, was hard but we managed to kill him. He dropped a necklace. From what i've heard the drop is the same on both settings Heroic and normal but tomorrow i'll go back there with the guild and kick his but. Personally, I can't even remember the last time a voidwalker was of any use to me, so that trinket would be useless for me. Add in mana gems, evocation, and the fact that any good raid will throw a shadow priest in with their casters, and you'll understand why mp5 is not a sought-after stat for mages. Many reports on here of things like 10 runs with none dropped, few friends said the same. We did 5, got one on the 5th kill.

Did another with another group and got 1 the first kill. Did 5 more and gumtree work from home jobs in durban staff, but got pet on 3rd to last. All normal mode, we haven't done any heroic yet. My advice would be to form a group of 5 guildies, preferably with as many lvl 70 alts available as u can get.

For example, our second party had a Hunter, Me LockResto Druid, Resto Druid, Resto Shaman. But the first druid had a 70 mage and 70 warrior with decent gear. The second druid had a 70 warrior with decent gear. The shaman had a 70 hunter with raid gear and a 70 mage.

The first resto druid was in my first party, so only his 2 alts could summon. The second resto druid was the tank warrior for my first party, so summoned from his druid. The Shaman had 3 characters to summon with. We wiped once because our resto druid the only healer character in party at the time disconnected during the first phase.

So we got 6 summons out of it, and I couldn't even summon. If they had all been unused, we would've had 10 summons available, dayton trading post ohio able to do a heroic.

The fight is about long enough to use a heroism every other one, and we were able to kill him during the first "core" phase 3 times out of the 11 kills because of it.

We all have T6 raid gear except the hunter, so individual results may vary. Helps when the healer has endgame gear for sure, as well as a high dpser. I would recommend a shaman of any kind if u are going to be doing multiple kills, just because of the extra DPS provided.

But more importantly, while its stats are pretty lacklustre, that 13mp5 makes it useful. Slap a spirit enchant on this, and it becomes useful to switch out when you're running low on mana or not casting running from arcane orbs in SSC or from Big Bad Wolf in kara for example. Blizzard may do like they did with Children's week and have two separate quest chains. Comment by Kaleanon Good point, I recall it was the talent change up in that patch that made everything so rediculously easy. However as The Festival is now in effect and things are going as they have been, Ahune is still level 73 standard BC Boss level and things are going well. But my main point of "Not Everyone has Wrath of the Lich King" still applies. Blizzard will always push for people to stay current and to have achievements for Those Bored Level 80's to do, However to alienate those subscribers who are not WOTLK ready or simply not high enough would be silly.

Next year perhaps we'll see Ahune raised to 80, Or a more intense Difficulty mode. Same with the Horsemen this coming Halloween, But currently not so much. Blizzard is working on more important things and quite frankly, it's an event boss, meant to be for fun, not to challenge the "hardcore" players but to get people involved, to keep new players interested in events that pop up but once a year. Alot of people I imagine would be sad to join the game and be in their 50's or 60's and learn that an event was changed to level 80 suddenly to please people who played longer, thus they now have to wait a year for the event to come back.

When you Have millions of Subscribers, the Majority wins. Having a event boss be level 70 which is "between" the original Level Cap and the Current cap should help everyone out.

As Always the emphisis is to "Have fun. I still take people to Karazhan, for laughs myself and because those items can also be a big help to people leveling. I recall I didn't replace most of my equipment from Karazhan until I was Without going to instances So again I say, When going for the achievement, remember to ask around, see if you have any guildies or friends on with lower level alts who might want to come.

Comment by Praiseworthy i killed this guys twice today, he dropped the same epic cloak both times, it's no dought a very cool looking cloak, and great for lvl 70, i kept it for my midsummer set, even though its blue, still kinda cool, but now that i see the weapon here, my be kind of nice too btw, if u dont know what the use thing does, it u can make it snow around u for like a minute or something, ive seen it in orgrimmar, pretty cool actually and when ur fighting Ahune, even at lvl 80, it will look like the most epic encounter u will have, it is just a really cool looking fight.
